Air Connectivity Analytics for Tourism Boards and DMOs

AeroCraft gives tourism boards and destination marketing organisations the air-connectivity evidence they need: which source markets lack direct flights, which new routes are feasible, and how incentivised routes actually perform. We build route-feasibility models and visitor-flow dashboards that support air service development strategy and justify marketing investment.

Equip tourism boards and destination marketing organizations with route feasibility data and visitor flow analytics that inform aviation development strategy.

Why do tourism boards need aviation data?

For many destinations, new direct air service is the single strongest lever on visitor numbers. Tourism boards increasingly fund that lever directly — through airline marketing support, revenue guarantees, and co-operative campaigns. Every one of those commitments raises the same questions: which route, which airline, and how will we know it worked? Answering them needs schedule, route, and demand data that most destination organisations do not have in-house.

What does AeroCraft build for tourism and destination marketing?

  • Source-market analysis: where visitors come from today and how they currently reach the destination
  • Route feasibility models for unserved or underserved city pairs, with assumptions shown
  • Incentive and revenue-guarantee tracking: route-by-route performance against what was invested
  • Visitor-flow dashboards combining air capacity with tourism statistics
  • Evidence packs to support pitches to airlines alongside the local airport

How should a destination decide which new route to back?

Start with demand that already exists. Passengers who travel from a source market today through a connecting hub, or who fly into a neighbouring airport and drive, are the most reliable signal that a direct route would fill. Then weigh supply — which carriers have the aircraft and a network reason to operate the route — and seasonality, which determines whether it can run year-round. A transparent model that ranks candidate routes on these factors lets a board compare options fairly and defend its choice to stakeholders.

Why AeroCraft for destination air service work?

We build route intelligence for a living. Fly-tlv maps every direct destination from a major hub with live, scheduled, and historical flight data; Fly2Meet compares live timetables across cities; Skyinfo tracks schedules and performance for more than 500 airlines. That gives destination clients an accurate, current picture of who flies where — without paying for airline-grade network planning software they would only partly use.

How do you measure whether an incentivised route is working?

Each supported route gets a scorecard. It tracks capacity actually operated against what was promised, punctuality and cancellations, seasonal patterns, and — where visitor data is available — the change in arrivals from the source market compared with markets that received no support. Competitor moves, such as another carrier adding the same route from a nearby airport, are recorded alongside, so results are interpreted in context.

The scorecards roll up into a programme view showing which investments are paying back and which are not. That gives boards a defensible basis for renewing, adjusting, or ending support, and a track record to show airlines when pitching the next route.

Because the data refreshes automatically from schedules and movements, the scorecards stay current without a consultant being re-engaged each season.

For smaller destinations, the same approach can be delivered as a lighter annual review rather than a continuously updated dashboard, keeping costs proportionate to the size of the programme.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to work through our airport?

Not necessarily, but route development works best when the destination and the airport share one evidence base. We can work with both.

Can you combine this with our visitor statistics?

Yes. Visitor surveys, hotel data, and arrivals statistics can be integrated with air capacity data.

How quickly can we get a first answer?

A feasibility ranking for a shortlist of candidate routes is a contained first project, measured in weeks.
