Aviation Data APIs: Flights, Schedules, Routes & NOTAMs
AeroCraft provides a 16-endpoint aviation data API suite — live and historical flight tracking, schedules, delay prediction, airline routes, airport and aircraft reference data, and parsed NOTAMs — normalised to IATA and ICAO identifiers. We also design and build custom APIs for aviation companies that need to expose their own data to partners or products.
A full catalog of high-performance REST APIs — flight tracking, schedules, delays, routes, NOTAMs, and reference data — built to enterprise-grade SLAs and documented for fast integration.
What aviation APIs does AeroCraft provide?
The suite is grouped into three families. Each endpoint returns JSON over REST, uses consistent identifiers, and shares one authentication model, so integrating the second endpoint takes a fraction of the time of the first.
- Flight data and tracking — live flight tracker, historical tracker, flight schedules, historical and future schedules, flight delay with ML prediction, and satellite tracking for oceanic and remote airspace
- Routes and reference data — airline routes, airports, airlines, aircraft, cities, and countries
- Search and operational — parsed NOTAMs, nearby search around a coordinate, and autocomplete across airports, airlines, cities, and aircraft
Who uses aviation data APIs?
Travel technology companies use schedules, routes, and autocomplete to power search and itinerary products. Airports and ground handlers use live tracking and delay data for resource planning. Logistics firms use schedules and routes to plan capacity. Startups use the full catalogue to ship an aviation product without first building a data pipeline. Developers building AI assistants use the same endpoints as tools an LLM can call.
Why are NOTAMs and identifiers handled differently here?
Raw NOTAMs are terse, coded ICAO-format text that most APIs pass through unchanged, leaving every customer to write their own parser. AeroCraft's NOTAMs API decodes them into structured fields — location, affected facility, validity window, and condition — so software can filter and act on them.
Likewise, every response resolves both IATA and ICAO codes. A booking platform working in IATA and an operations tool working in ICAO receive the same flight with both identifiers, which removes an entire class of mapping bugs.
Can AeroCraft build a custom API for our own data?
Yes. Many aviation businesses hold valuable data — operational records, fleet information, airport services — that partners want but can only receive as spreadsheets or file drops. We design versioned, documented APIs around that data, with authentication, rate limiting, usage analytics, and an OpenAPI specification, so partners can integrate self-service.
The same suite powers Skyinfo, which offers API access to developers alongside its traveller and operations tools.
How quickly can a team integrate the AeroCraft APIs?
Integration time is dominated by data mapping, not HTTP calls. Because every endpoint returns the same identifiers and conventions, the mapping work is done once. A team that has wired up flight status can add schedules, routes, or airport data in hours rather than weeks, and reference endpoints such as airports, airlines, and autocomplete are usually live in a product within a day.
We support integration directly: example requests for your use case, help mapping our identifiers to your internal ones, and guidance on caching so you call the API only when the data can actually have changed. For AI use cases, the same endpoints are available as MCP tools with no additional integration work.
Frequently asked questions
How are the APIs authenticated?
With API keys issued per client and per environment. Enterprise integrations can be scoped to specific endpoints and rate limits.
Can we trial the APIs before committing?
Yes. Contact us with your use case and we will arrange evaluation access to the endpoints you need.
Can the APIs be used as tools for an AI agent?
Yes. We expose them through Model Context Protocol servers so an LLM can query flights, schedules, and NOTAMs directly.
